Via Linda is a 4 piece alternative rock band from Houston, TX that was established in 2017. Founded by singer and lead guitarist Charlie, bassist Pablo & rhythm guitarist Steve who had been in bands together in past years. They recruited younger brother JD as drummer. Their first show was held on May 27th, 2017 at the once legendary Fitzgeralds (RIP) in Houston, TX. Following the release of their first single ‘ The Way That You Move’ on local radio station 94.5 The Buzz & 90.1 KPFT, they gained a quick fan base locally in their hometown of Houston.
In September of 2017, Via Linda released their first EP, Peachy Cool Arrow.
In 2018, Via Linda started the year sharing the stage with national recording band TRAPT. Followed by performing with Puddle of Mudd, Saliva, Sons of Texas, Saving Abel, Final Drive & Scattered Hamlet.
Late 2018, Via Linda started the recording of their second EP, Apollo. This album was self produced & recorded. They continued polishing the new album at the beginning of 2019. It was mastered by Kris Crummett at Interlace Audio.
At the end of 2018, Via Linda performed at 2018 SLM Awards. ‘Apollo’ was released May 11th, 2019 and was followed by an album release show. In October 2019, Via Linda placed second runner up in a battle of the bands in Austin, TX held by KNOTFEST Festival for a slot at Knotfest Meets Forcest Mexico against the best unsigned bands in Texas.
Via Linda was nominated for ‘Best Live Performance” & ‘Best Local Band’ at 2019 SLM Awards. The year ended with Via Linda sharing the stage with 10 YEARS, Sponge, Parabelle, ZEBRA, & Bulletboys.
Houston Chronicle named Via Linda one of ‘23 Houston acts we’re excited to hear in 2020‘ on Dec 2019.
While 2020 has stopped many artists from performing, it didn’t stop Via Linda from continuing to write and record. In July, Via Linda released their first single, ‘COBRAHEAD‘. Summer of 2020 led Via Linda to being sponsored by Clayton USA.
For the most part of 2021-2022, Via Linda finalized songs and headed straight to the studio to finish an album. Via Linda had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Lit, Stephen Pearcy of Ratt, and Genitallica of Mexico in 2022. By the end of 2022, the next single ‘Take The L‘ was released.
2023 has started with continuation of studio time along with 2 more singles being released starting with the more pop/rock 80’s influenced song – ‘Beast And The Lions‘. Summer continued with the newest single ‘Shimizu‘ backed by a music video that’s being called “music video of the year” by Matthew Schiliro.
